Not a student, just speaking for the dental center:

It’s free, that’s great. But also, one of the students scraped out during my temporary filing during a cleaning and then the professors/dentists just tried to laugh it off like it was nothing—like I don’t have a hole in my tooth I didn’t at the beginning of the appointment.

To be clear, my issue isn’t with the student but the professor who made no effort to acknowledge the clinic’s responsibility in the situation and really made no effort to help the student make the follow up appointment.

Whether or not it’s was going to happen at some point, it came out when a dental students was using metal hooks in my mouth for well over an hour and you can’t just act like it was a successful appointment after that. Afterwards my only options were to come back to get it filled or go elsewhere and pay big money to do it. So as much as it sucks, looks like they made a repeat customer out of me.

Went for the AAOI welcome black events, was great, was able to admire the lovely field and beautiful places it had, they followed the CDC rules, nice staffs and students, two celebrities came, they were special guest so it made it more interesting. All in all I loved my experience there and I could go there to get some cool pictures you know background and all, I am a model in case you were wondering.

My Daughter made an appointment for the counselor the first time. The counselor was sick . they said they would make another appointment. But did not happen. So she had to go on line to make another appointment. But it a long time. So we had to back to the collage to make appointment. Then we got an appointment.

As a veteran, I truly expected better service. The Veterans Service Office often does not respond to initial emails, and when they do, it can take 5 to 10 business days. I had to submit my paperwork for the Chapter 33 GI Bill two, sometimes three times before it was processed correctly, either due to errors on my part or theirs. Calling is ineffective, as it's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone in the Veterans Service Office.

In comparison, I've been trying to get approved for VR&E benefits, and the Veterans Service Officer failed to provide the necessary information to my VA representative. I signed up for this program a year ago and am still waiting for approval. Recently, I moved to LA Valley College, and they had the information to the VA and my approval processed in just two days. When I signed up as a student at Valley College, they emailed me two days later, apologizing for not reaching out sooner to see if I needed help applying for benefits.

If you have the option to attend another school in the LACCD system as a veteran, please consider doing so.

Went to the Welcome center and everyone is unhelpful. They have bad service throughout the whole school and they don’t care to help anyone. Waste of time you’re better off at any other community college, NEVER COME TO THIS SCHOOL!!

I chose this college because it was ranked as one of the top ten community colleges in California for online courses. Many certificates and degrees are offered, and the counselors I’ve spoke with over the phone were polite and helpful.

They wait until more than a month into the semester to process student loans - and the form doesn’t specify that it’s for the year. I filled it out thinking it was only for the semester. Financial Aid office didn’t respond to my email.

The campus bookstore lacks some required books, especially in the real estate major. This makes the EOPS book voucher worthless.
