Attended my alma mater Virginia State University Homecoming (Class of '98) this year in the rain. Arrived to VSU at 11:30 but it took about 2 hours to get down the main street (Dupuy Ave) to the campus due to terrible traffic. Waiting in the car for that long was horrendous just to get down the street. Once we made it to the campus, parking had filled up quickly, so I had to pay to park at one of the local houses near the entrance to the campus. The owner of the house was very nice to let me and other cars park in their yard. We watched the VSU football team win big against Bluefield State University from West Virginia to go 7-0 in the rain. The concession stand food was pricey but not what I wanted because I couldn't wait to eat at the vendor area. Once the game was over with, we walked down to the VSU bookstore. I was able to get some good VSU gear. Then we walked through the packed crowd to get some food from the vendor area. Very pricey vendor food but the food was very delicious. Before walking back to our car we walked over to the yard area where one of the fraternity's had a gogo band called Sirius Company from the DMV area cranking that gogo music. They sounded really good. We were able to enjoy ourselves without any incidence at Homecoming. We got home safely afterwards.

I love VSU my daughter is a sophomore and I couldn't be more proud of her and her choir my only wish would be an updated dorm but that's not a big thing.

I am currently a rising Senior at Virginia State University and I must say I have enjoyed my years there. I am a Management Information Systems major and the Reginald F. Lewis College of Business is great! I believe that I made a very good decision when I decided to attended this school. I have had a good experience with the classes as well as the atmosphere of the campus. Virginia State is full of great opportunities. I must say this is a very friendly campus full of people from many different areas. VSU is very helpful when it comes to preparing people for the high school to college transition.

My experience at Virginia State University has been more than I have ever expected. I am a freshman here at Virginia State. I don't have any complaints about this school. I really like the fact that if you don't want to stay in a freshman dorm you have a choice to move out into a different dorm. my fall semester here was great and my greats were wonderful as well. This school was not my first as I was receiving my acceptance letters. But somehow I found my way to this school. I have had a lovely first semester at VSU I wouldn't trade it for anything.

As an upcoming Junior Social Work Major the best way to describe my experience at this University as interesting to say the least. Virginia State is exactly what you make it . This university provides many opportunities inside and out side of the class room. I can honestly say that there have many instances for me to grow as a person with the opportunities that I was afforded.The Campus is filled with lots of activities. I would recommend this University to any one that wants to attend a school they can actually get something from inside and out side of the class room VSU I LOVE IT I LOVE IT

I am currently a Junior, Mass Communications Major with a minor is Business Marketing. When I first came to Virginia State, it was hard being away from home. Being that I went to a very diverse high school, it was an adjustment to be around mainly African-Americans. As the months went on, I grew to LOVE Virginia State. You have to make it fun and interesting and get involved. The classroom sizes are good because the teachers actually get to know you by name and have a relationship with you. I love everything that Virginia State University has to offer!

Virginia State University has given me the home away from home experience. The beautiful campus and family atmosphere make it easy to adjust to this university life. With class room sizes not being too large it makes it easy to build relationships with your professors and get the help you need in order to be a successful student.
