Took 2 and a half days to ship. When I ordered, their site said 3-4 business days until delivery. When they finally shipped Wednesday night (I ordered Monday morning), they used a deliver method that is 5 business days. How were these EVER going to arrive in 3-4 business days? Straight up fraudulent claim. If you are charging 3-5 times the price of normal products, you need to be better in every way. I'll take a pair of cheap Chinese slippers that show up on time over some pretentious ones that come late. Filing a chargeback.

Ordered $700 Horween Cordovan loafers. They arrived yesterday. Shoes asymmetrical, mismatched, cut and sewn differently, obviously different toe boxes, one shoe had a peculiar slant. Defective, unwearable. Third world quality. A real shame to waste such excellent Cordovan leather. Contacted customer service. No answer. Shocking that Rancourt cobblers would produce such defective goods, even more shocking that Rancourt has no quality control in place to pull defective shoes from production, worse yet that Rancourt cannot respond to complaints in an expeditious fashion.

Btw, although the Rancourt site has web forms to fill out they don’t provide a phone number. I had to look them up. I called but their recording said they don’t take calls, just leave a message.

Something badly wrong here. Buyer beware.

They make a beautiful pair of loafers, however their return policy and customer experience is terrible.

After a recent purchase, I had to return a pair of loafers because they were too tight. After chatting with their representative about options, I decided to opt for a refund. I sent the shoes back, and after they were delivered and they processed the return, I had to wait over a month to get the payment refunded. (Note: No where is this policy stated on their website.) This screams of a business in financial troubles, financially operating month to month. And if not, just a business that has very little care for customer experience.

I placed an order in November 2023 and as of June 2024, I've still not received my order. I'm told it could be late July or August, but I'm not confident given the original fulfillment date was late February.

I have one other pair of Rancourts. While decent, they are nothing special for the price and certainly not worth waiting the better part of a year for.

Quality build, excellent materials, and wonderful customer service. Rancourt shoes are great. I "thought" about these shoes for 5-10 years before I finally did. Why? Value, I wasn't sure they were worth the price. Well, I got a pair for myself years ago....then another pair...then pairs for friends and family as gifts. Made in Maine, the way life should be.

Awful customer service. I even drove up to the store/manufacturing site in Lewiston. Still no shoes from an August 2023 order. I’m beginning to think this is a front. I’ve read other reviews and I’d guess Rancourt is in serious trouble. Although you’d not gather that from the rigs in their parking area.
Anyway, I’d sure like the shoes I ordered or actually had to reorder because the sizing was off so badly. Buy from Quoddy or Alden. You’ll not have problems like we’re experiencing.

Fraudulent activity at this company, wish I had time to chase after $328 in small claims court. They are scamming their customers, essentially delaying and or ignoring any refunds DUE to CUSTOMERS so WE are the ones that finance their poor cash flow situation. Violating the agreed upon terms and conditions to do this to their customers is known as fraud. Buy at your own risk.

11/3 - purchase
11/8 - return authorization
11/13 - proof of return delivery
12/3 - reached out to company asking about the refund. Response was "We process refunds once a month and will send you an email confirmation as soon as your return has been processed."
2/12/24 - 5 subsequent emails and 1 voicemail later, I still have nothing. At least if I had kept the shoes I could resell them or donate them to charity.

Ordered a custom pair of shoes not currently in production. Had a very long conversation about sizing while ordering. Unfortunately they were made on the wrong last, and don’t fit me. Rancourt makes a beautiful shoe at a competitive price, however I can’t recommend them at this time. They can’t be relied on to deliver the product you order correctly.
