It is one of the oldest industrial and business training institutes in Kolhapur city. The institute has got a wide campus. This area is very scenic. The buildings are also grand and attractive.

Along with these buildings, the institute has had a very diverse teaching staff since its inception. The teachers in this were Harhunnari. But unfortunately they did not use it very creditably. We don't get to hear many of their stories. With great observation, effective use of logic, this learning class was dedicated to all students.

There are many trades (courses) available at ITI ie Industrial Training Institute. It is also a feature of this institute that new courses have been started as per time. Sometimes Rankala lake was visible from the front of this institute. But now due to increased urban settlement, these things have become history.

कोल्हापूर शहरातल्या जुन्या औद्योगिक आणि व्यवसाय प्रशिक्षण संस्थांपैकी ही पहिली संस्था आहे. संस्थेला विस्तिर्ण परिसर लाभला आहे. हा परिसर अतिशय निसर्गरम्य आहे. इमारतीही भव्य आणि आकर्षक आहेत.

या इमारतींबरोबरच अगदी आरंभीच्या कालापासूनच या संस्थेला अतिशय व्यासंगी असा शिक्षक वर्ग लाभला आहे. यामधील शिक्षक हरहुन्नरी होते. पण दुर्दैवाने त्यांनी त्याचा फार श्रेयवादीपणाने वापर केला नाही. त्यांचे फार किस्से ऐकायला मिळत नाहीत. प्रचंड निरीक्षण, तर्काचा प्रभावी वापर करणारा हा शिक्षण वर्ग सर्वार्थान विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी समर्पित होता.

आयटीआय अर्थात औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्था या ठिकाणी अनेक ट्रेडस (अभ्यासक्रम) उपलब्ध आहेत. नवनवे अभ्यासक्रम काळानुरूप सुरू झाले आहेत हेही या संस्थेचे वैशिष्ट्य आहे. कधीकाळी या संस्थेच्या समोरून रंकाळा तलाव दिसत असे. पण आता वाढलेल्या नागरी वसाहतीमुळे या गोष्टी इतिहासजमा झाल्या आहेत .

I have wasted my most important' 2 + 1 year in this institution . Not good for honest students or who got distinction in 10th or 12th class , pls avoid to join ITI.
ITI is not a college it's labour production factory.
