am a student at HCC college. I have been trying to successfully submit my documentation since 10/2024. I relocated here from Chicago by myself and I have a terminal illness ( Huntington Chorea Disease). I had to drive 8 hours in total to get this paperwork from Dr. Sanders at Crosspointe Medical Center in Cypress. I have never been advised of the proper documentation. I have spoken with countless people, contact center agents, supervisors and sending emails that get no follow up regarding. The very last time my doctor and I googled the wording on the loan website and finally found what they were requesting finally. The final time I went to HCC Central and I dropped off my paperwork and the representative said everything was fine. I called 2 days ago, I was told by the kind lady that an email would be sent and If there was no update to come to the HCC Northline. I spoke with a young lady and she said they needed the paperwork as if she didn’t see or understand the process entirely. She then got Vicky Bradshaw who accused me of falsifying my documentation, asked if I really went to that doctor and if she was my primary doctor. I asked to make a complaint with the board or financial aid department. She gave me information who she said was the director of financial aid aid. When we spoke she stated that my documentation wasn’t right again. I got off the phone with her instantly. This entire time I have been patient, it’s been over 3 months and there’s no resolution. I strive to have a reputation built on honesty and integrity I have never had to experience such trauma while trying to simply go to college as someone with a disability. I have been accused of some very detestable acts by people that are put in place to uphold a higher standard in the education system. I want to file a complaint with everyone involved in this matter, I cannot imagine the pain that people have had to deal with in this financial aid department. Every single on of my doctor notes are verifiable. I would like a beneficial resolution for myself that would allow my health not to deteriorate from this incident, no further people are affected by their treatment and I want to finish my degree plan. These people don’t do what they say they’re going to do, no morals and you are waiting because your education is important to you, but they never have an answer or resolution. I know that it’s the closest one in our neighborhood stay far away from them. They don’t have compassion, accountability, or integrity.

Great locations with student parking lots. Not sure why people are complaining about parking. Glad my college student is able to take summer classes to transfer to her out-of-state college. Need to research on the professors though. Some are good; some are not; especially some professors are very hard to understand. It’s worse when those teach online classes then get nasty when students ask him to repeat!!

Im new to the city and new to hcc, today I visited the campus since I wanted to enroll for fall. You get to the campus and there is no sign in sight to let new students that don't know the campus where to go and the people working there they don't even know the campus they work at or they gave me wrong instructions, idk. The point is, they know there are new students coming they should put more effort in setting them up for success, not making them walk around their mini campus like beheaded chickens without knowing where to go! I was not the only one lost! DO BETTER

Told me i had to wait 3 weeks for my school ID… & that i could only request one online. thats just crazy… Lonestar college does it right then and there within 5 minutes?no going online nothing. HCC needs to fix their ID situation, so inconvenient.

My family member and I visited the financial aid office because we were having issues with the website and needed assistance. We hoped to speak with someone in person for some help. Since I had recently applied and didn’t have an ID yet, I intended to sign in using the “no ID Number yet” option on the computer to see a financial aid advisor.

Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The lady at the front desk, who had orangish blondish short hair, was extremely rude and unhelpful. She told me not to sign in and refused to let me see anyone, speaking to us in a snarky and condescending manner. This was very frustrating, especially since we were trying to get ahead with our aid before the fall semester.

In contrast, all the other employees were professional and helpful. I was able to see an academic advisor the same day from a different department using the same sign-in option without an ID number, and it was no problem. However, the financial aid department’s poor attitude really ruined my day.

Just a warning to anyone who may have to go to this department: beware that you may face attitude. Don't let it ruin your day. Be persistent, do what you have to do, and report names if you must. The unprofessionalism is unacceptable. We are paying tuition to get an education there, and we deserve to be treated with respect.

DO NOT COME TO ANY HCC CAMPUS!!!

(Financial aid office)
This sad excuse for a college is like dealing with the government they make you jump through so many unnecessary hoops and afterwards still can’t get the correct information or assistance you need. I attended HCC years ago and I decided to take an a continuing education course(Human Resources). I was told to enroll in HCC in order to apply for financial aid and the TPEG which I did and that alone was a hurdle since their website repeatedly did not recognize the password or user ID info I created. I was eventually provided a link and I could not access it called HCC and was told I owed $629 and it was pending?!? I asked the rep why do I owe $629?.. she stated thats I need to pay for the class before I get the TPEG grant?!? That makes no sense at all. I’m changing my financial aid info and attending another college.

This community college is trash!!! It took emailing the chancellor to get my daughter fully enrolled into this college. They don’t assign specific academic counselors to the students so questions are answered differently everytime. The professors have horrible etiquette, one professor stated on the first day of school that students can’t miss any quizzes or exams and she didn’t even care if you were going through chemotherapy…..how unprofessional and emotionally obtuse can someone be? When students have questions arise or extenuating circumstances no one can give adequate answers. I.e. parent dies is there a bereavement policy for students and is there a minimum requirements for the instructors to work with them in this situation. Called to ask and the employee could not answer the question. The professors do not care about the success of the students and no one is holding the professors accountable for their behavior in classrooms.
