I only took two accounting night classes here, and I frequented the gym for about a year, but I thought it was a good value and I really enjoyed my instructors. They made going back to school quite comfortable after a seven-year absence.

I love this place. Starting over was hard enough but the staff here made everything easy. Unfortunately I may be transferring to ACC next semester because they still recognize ITT Tech credits. Would give 5 stars if COM did too.

COM was the first college I attended. If I can offer a young person who may have some financial challenges some advice it would be to attend a community college first. COM has some great certificate and degree plans especially their nursing and chemical processing. A lot of times you may be able to get a scholarship or grant. Please don't take out a lot of student loans like I did unless you really need to do so. For some people just needing to relax, go walk the track and check out the ducks! It's a fun way to take your mind off things, get some exercise & fresh air and won't cost you a dime.

Took a lot of classes at College of the Mainland through the beginning of my college career. They have some good basic and introduction classes, and have a lot of certifications you can earn. They work with high school students in collegiate program, which allows high school students to take intro level college classes.

I would definitely recommend doing this if you are a high school student. This will give you a big advantage coming out of high school, and allows you to possibly graduate high school with an associate’s degree.

If you plan on taking the nursing program here and you absolutely have to apply to this college, let me give you a run down of what to expect and my experience at this place.

Don’t expect your teachers to care that you payed your money for them to teach you nursing. You will need to teach yourself because they are not teachers, they are payed to waste your time.

You will have to argue with administrative about your grades, your immunizations, their teachers inability to run a classroom, and also their behavior and lateness.

This is a program run by incompetent females so expect the HBIC attitude. If you’ve ever worked in a female dominated office, expect the same bs that you see there, here.

They have been sued before for their lack of effort in teaching

They recommend you not to work because they don’t know their own schedule. Our teacher forgot that we had clinicals with her at st Joseph. We called her and woke her up. She shows up an hour and a half late and had the nerve to demand us to on time and would take no excuse for tardiness or absences .

They don’t have summer classes

More than half the people in my class didn’t make it to the second semester

Take nursing somewhere else if you can like online or a university. They seem to think their Poo don’t stink here when in fact it’s probably the worst experiences that I’ve had at a community college.

No I am not a freshman or new to college or program life. Honestly I think Med school is easier to get into and in the long run being a doctor will pay more.
