Read all the helpful reviews and went to pick out some cedar, expressed that I needed good looking boards for the project I was doing. The owner/misoperator (Charles) was too busy talking about the Olympics/on their phone to pay attention to my specifications and shortly thereafter came out and berrated us for picking up specific good boards and then proceeded to blame us for the sorry state of the stacks of lumber in the warehouse. The wood is ok for once though.

I bought 7 12’ 1x8 cedar boards. They loaded them on my trailer. I used 6 of them so when I go back to return the one board that cost almost $80 they wouldn’t return it because he said it had a scratch!!! When I took it off the trailer into the sunlight he couldn’t find the scratch!!!!! Because there was no scratch!!!!! This place is a true rip off!!!!! This is the second time I’ve dealt with them and the last. And they also charge a 20% restocking fee!!!! Roy lumber in Bessemer is by far a better place to do business!!!! I’ll drive the extra 30 miles not to deal with these jokes!!!!

WARNING YOU BETTER EXAMINE EVERY PIECE OF CEDAR THAT YOU BUY FROM THIS PLACE. CHARLES WILL "TRY" TO SELL YOU WET CEDAR THAT'S BEEN SITTING IN THE MUD THAT LITERALLY HAS CHUNKS OF WOOD MISSING FROM THE 2X6"S. Everybody in the place has a terrible attitude except Mark and they think they are doing you a favor. The entire place smells like flatulence. You've been warned. Take my advice if you can buy cedar anywhere else that would be the place to go.

This is the only place in town to buy cedar lumber. Oh, you can get cedar boards at the big box stores but you'll pay twice to three times the price. Cole-Hall has anything you want in cedar dimensional lumber, beams, .... Highly recommended.

Rude. When paying 100$ for a 6x6 8ft rough saw post I expect it to have 4 sides rough saw and to not have a letter and numbers written in sharpie on a side. When I asked how to get the marker off. They did not offer to get another they just refunded my money and unloaded my truck. I believe I "spoke" with Charlie he was tall 6 ft 5+ skinny short hair or bald head.

Been dealing with Cole Hall for years good prices good people good selection usually have what I need in stock or already on order not the easiest place to find but if you give them a call they're happy to help with directions
