I am pursuing my JD with ALU. I love the curriculum, I love the instructors- my criminal law class was taught by Stephen Morgan, Deputy DA LA County, and currently running for Superior Court Judge! The level of education doesn't get any better than this!
I have excellent coaches in the program and the workload is just right.
I am preparing to take the Baby Bar this year- ALU is setting me up for success in passing and the Bar as well!

They should have worked with me I was already in just need a extension on my classes and orientation. I explained to them I had to take this job due to some financial problems but I was willing to make it work because this was my dream to become a lawyer one day .but I guess they denied me couldn't work with me and said to start next semester .but if they have just extended me couple more days I could have catched up on my assignments. Also had to many problems with financial aid . I never had problems with financial aid before until now.
Guess it wasn't meant to be .I'll be looking for another school where I can start now

Cool
Law school is law school. There is no way around it. You have to do the work, make the time, and study. If you do this, there is no reason you should not be successful. It does take discipline and people should not think that going to an online school is easier. ALU makes it doable and affordable. All staff and faculty are approachable and helpful whenever I have had a question. This program is specifically designed for working adults and they structure their program accordingly. Had it not been for ALU, I would not have obtained my JD degree. I would highly recommend any person to do their research to see if it is a right fit for them, especially if they are willing to put in the work.

ALU provided me the background necessary to pass the First Year Law School Exam on the first try (I think the pass rate was about 20%) and the California Bar Exam, also on the first attempt (pass rate was 33.9%). I recommend ALU. If you take responsibility, put in the time and do the work, it is well worth it.

Being an attorney has always been my life goal. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, I could not take the traditional route. If it was not for ALU and its student-centered program, I would not have been able to even afford law school let alone become an attorney. It is a great program and I recommend it to anyone wanting to be an attorney, yet who cannot go to a traditional brick and mortar law school.

I'm a current third year law student at ALU. I have about one year left before I take the general bar. I am very pleased with the school and the knowledge I have acquired. It is in no way easy, but it is doable. I was able to work part-time and full time while going to school. I even had an internship at reputable law firm when in my second year, which is something I might not have had time to do if I went to another school with stricter schedules and no recorded lectures.

Students complain about the FYLSX and yes it is difficult, but it contains three subjects that are on the general bar. You are permitted three chances to take it and if you do not pass by then you simply cannot continue at the school until you do. If you can pass the baby bar, you are set at least in those three subjects when it comes time for preparing for the GBX. It is not easy, but ALU had a great prep course that gave constant feedback, essay practice, lectures, and MBE guidance. I really liked the prep course as well as the legal program overall.

I am a 2L in the JD program. It is affordable, manageable with my busy schedule, and worth every cent because I do not need to take time off work. I can still travel and support my family without putting school on hold. I could not have done this if I went to a typical brick and mortar school, which is why I specifically chose ALU. Not to mention it is in Los Angeles so I can attend class in person when time permits.

This school is horrible. A man told me in so many words my voice was not accurate enough to do broadcast journalism. He said my voice was like a person coming into a lawyer's office to do an interview in jeans and a t-shirt. He was trying to say my voice was not good enough to be iqn broadcast journalism. I was beyond mad that someone like him would say anything like that me. He did not help me or at least convince me why I should go to this school. I would not refer this school to ANYBODY. To be specific, this guy's name is Tim, I think.
