Well, let me start just saying that because of this great school and principal, my daughter received a scholarship at the university of Virgina. I think just by saying this i am telling everyone the amazing staff and principal this school has. I am so proud of my daughter now that she is in college that i did not hesitate in enrolling my 14 year old daughter last year. Like any other schools it is not a perfect school, although i can honestly say i am so glad to have my daughter in YWCPA. The success of our daughters is not only responsibility of the school it is mainly our responsibility to teach them how to respect people so they can be respect. Show them how to be a great professional , but overall how to be a better person everyday so they can succeed in life. Lastly i want to thank principal Ms Delesa Thomas for looking up for our daughters future, you are an excellent professional, keep up the awesome job you are doing for this school.

My daughter is in 6th grade at Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy. I had volunteered at the school years ago and liked what I experienced and I liked the way the girls of all grades seemed so healthy and happy and engaged. You feel the sisterhood. I have all good things to say as a parent of a student now. My daughter has overcome the hurdles of a pandemic and I have never seen her this engaged in her schoolwork. I was really worried about her catching up after the pandemic, but in 4 short weeks at YWCPA she has met a network of girls from 6th to 12th grade and she is making A’s and B’s. The teachers have wasted no time getting these girls up to speed and in an advanced setting. So grateful to have my daughter attend this nation’s top school for girls. Thank you YWCPA keep achieving!!

My daughter started middle school here, now se is in the 9th grade. I dont have but good things to say about YWCPA, it has been a blessing for me and my daughter, she has become a very strong young lady thanks to the motivation and support that her teachers and staff have giving her. I encourage you to give your daughter the oportunity to become succesful and strong by enrolling her at YWCPA!

We love Young Women's College Preparatory Academy! Our daughter is currently an 8th grader and has attended this school since grade 6. Our family has watched our daughter develop into an intelligent and mature young lady while attending this school. The old adage that states "it takes a village to raise a child" is what our family is most appreciative of as it relates to YWCPA. Administrators and teachers have been very supportive and caring about the well-being and academic success of our daughter. Principal Thomas is amazing and the faculty and staff provide a caring environment for our young ladies. They are preparing our girls to be positive role models and leaders for tomorrow. This is a wonderful sisterhood.

My daughter has attended this school since 6th grade and is now a Senior.
Will admit there has been ups and downs but you endure those challenges at any school regardless.
School is and will always be what you make it to be. Parent involvement is extremely important and communication is the key.
First of all, this school has a very rigorous curriculum with advanced classes. If your daughter is not doing well in Math and Science this school will curriculum may not work for her. Everything is possible but it will take the commitment from the student and parents.
This is a college prep school and it’s set to help them prepare for college. College is alot of work and professors are not there to babysit their students.
Over all my daughter has enjoyed and appreciated being a YWCPA ROSE for 5 soon to be 6 years and this school has really prepared her for college. She has gained allot of knowledge and several opportunities have been presented to her because of YWCPA.
Our daughters need to be committed to work hard for their goals.

I Love this school. My daughter has become more focused on her education and future and less worried about boys, being popular, or what others may think of her. Her self esteem is through the roof.
Thanks to the college visits since her 6th grade year, she has decided on a career in criminal justice and plans to become a Supreme court judge.
I hope all the girls can come here and take advantage of these wonderful opportunities.
I appreciate all the opportunities that Principal Thomas fights so hard for these girls to experience.

My daughter attended YWCPA in 6th and now 7th grade. Last year I thought her grades dropped because of the rigor of the curriculum and decided to try another year (my daughter was an honor roll student since Kinder and was enrolled at YWCPA getting F’s the first 6 weeks). I admit that was a mistake on my part. The teachers do not connect/communicate with the parents whatsoever. I’ve tried to email and call teacher often, but have been left in the dark with no response until I’ve contacted the Dean. During that time only was I able to get questions answered, but only from her and not the teacher. There are only a handful of teacher who are caring and understanding but there are MANY “teachers/educators” who are constantly losing students work and some of them grade unfairly (18 - 100’s and 1 - 50, so her average grade is a 60 (failing) and its on her report card.) The students there are loud and disrespectful, and the times I have visited many of the girls roam the hallway cursing or being bullies. Least to say, my daughter will not be in attendance at YWCPA ever again. A couple of colleague of mine warned me half way through this semester as they have transferred their daughters out of this school for the same reasons. I should have listened then, yet was giving them the benefit of the doubt because of some of the teachers left, either voluntarily or involuntarily.
