Decently cleaned & maintained roads, lawns & gardens inside the premises. However, the buildings perhaps need a bit more care & attention. The Principals' residence which was once occupied by William Carey could have a better - "wireless"- facade. The William Carey library desperately needs attention. Mere dusting and wiping of 200 year old books will do more harm than good.

I have done graduation with Honours from this college. All the professors were quite kind and helpful. It is one of the reputed and best college in University of Calcutta. I miss my those days that will never return. I feel proud to be a student of this college. Canteen service is also quite good.

This college was founded in 1818 by British missionaries. Serampore College is one of Asia's very first institutions of modern higher education.

College is affiliated to the University of Calcutta for Arts Science Commerce Dept to run diversified post graduate, under graduate, diploma and certificate courses. The college being the first missionary college in India has always been the attraction to the students.

One of the interesting point is that University of Calcutta is one the first university of India which was established in 1857 after that Bombay and Madras come.

Current principal of this college is Mr. Vansanglura holding office since 2015.

The college offers different undergraduate and postgraduate courses and aims at imparting education to the undergraduates of lower- and middle-class people of Serampore and its adjoining areas.

Science faculty consists of the departments of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, and Economics.

🔹Arts & Commerce

Arts and Commerce faculty consists of departments of Bengali, English, Communication English, Sanskrit, History, Geography, Political Science, Philosophy, Education, and Commerce (Finance & Accounting).

This faculty consists of different christian religion related subjects.

Serampore College is one of the oldest college in India and that is still functional. This college is very famous for its beautiful environment and location. College infrastructure is also quite good. The main building is famous for its amazing structure. As this is a government college, the fees structure is also very affordable.

Serampore college is a heritage college situated just next to the bay of Ganges. The college established during british rule and you can see the reflection in the construction of the building. At a glance the architecture is stunning with big pillars at the entrance of the building giving the look like royal castle. Just next to the entrance you will find a big play ground and the entire campus surrounded by large trees. In terms of education you will find details in their website, but as of my knowledge all major streams science, arts and commerce are available for graduation.
