Where does one begin. When I first came here, I have to say I wasn’t very into it. The work load hits you hard. It is a lot of work and a lot is expected from you. However it is all worth it. This school prepares you every well for college (like bro it’s in the name) and the real world. If you choose to go here make sure you know the sacrifices your making. It’s not a big fancy school. (High school musical was a lie kids) it’s a old building, it’s a small school, and not the most sanitary at times, but that’s also because this school building is shared. But when you do finally get out of here. I promise you it was all worth it. In terms of academics, this is one of the best options in queens.

The school building is shared but ok our own floors, it’s clean. The teachers care and do help with homework and classrooms. You gotta question, you can ask. They helped me way to many times. Plus, it’s a college ready school. There is gonna be a lot but fair work/homework. Especially since there’s been a new principal and assistant for 4 years now. I love YECA and still do! And yea, I’m a current student.

Its a good school for the most part. Teachers usually care for their students success but it isnt uncommon to end up with a teacher that doesnt really have the correct qualities to teach their course. Its also quite unsanitary, but as is any other high school. Not a lot of students or space to work with and no elective courses. They have been including more arts programs as of now as they have drama, music, and art, although you dont select these classes. All schedules are set in stone and you have to change your homeroom in order to change your schedule and even then it will simlt change to the schedule for that class. If you work hard, you will succeed kn this school, but it really isnt a school for everyone.

I'm a 9th grade student. It's a school where hard work makes you have good grades. For example, we have a lot of homework that counts as a big percentage of our grade. It's a good school, but too much work. They give multiple ways to do get grades on the regents by trying. For example, free tutoring right now in 9th grade. The teachers let you stay up while you have lunch to do whatever you have to do. For example, hw and tutoring by students and teachers. I noticed when many of my teachers seen the students working hard they gave extra chances to keep their grades up.

Ive been in this school since 6th grade, and though we are relatively new, we are growing signaficantly successful. The kids here are all a greaat community, rarely any conflict, the staff is amazig and friendly and they always do their best to keep kids on the right track to beig college ready. Kids get to take college classes at York College and end highschool with their diploma and 60 college credits. That's 2 years of free college tuitions. I leave YECA after next year and I'll sure miss it and all my friends and teachers I leave behind. I'm proud to be a YECA student. PS- The YECA Bears are the best basketball team in the state.
