Cedar College is a truly brilliant school, with dedicated, Christian Teachers at all school levels. All 5 of my grandchildren started there in Reception, and we now have 1 in Year 11! Highly recommend this Christian School to anyone looking for excellence in teaching and a great vision and ethos throughout the whole school.

My child had a tough time at cedar. She was treated indifferently and was bullied and lies from kids who bully other kids are given more importance to and not a child who has been affected mentally, emotionally and physically. The bully never goes to the counsellors but the victim is sent to deal with the counsellors. The teachers take no time to help a student through what is going on. My child was left with no friends as every friend she made was taken away by the popular kids who were also bullies. This school does not believe in having a bullying policy.

I was fortunate enough to attend Cheddar College on a full scholarship after setting collegiate records in the swimsuit modelling and vertical leap sections of the entrance exam. The uniform was tight fitting around my thighs, but otherwise comfortable and easy to dress up, or down, with the tasteful addition of accessories. Unlike many other similar institutions, I didn’t see any concrete evidence of organised crime or people smuggling. Graduating dux of my class, it was nice touch to see my full street name engraved on the Top Cheese Memorial shield that is kept in the mythical Hall of Champions, just behind the lavatories. Thanks Cheddar.

I know it is very cliché for an ex-student to leave one of their former schools a poor review, but let me just preface by saying that the education at Cedar was actually pretty decent, but I did not experience SACE there so I can not speak for that.

The culture though is absolutely as toxic as anything, especially regarding bullying and also encounters between staff and students (the latter point in my experience did not apply for primary school, but I know for some it did), it is very clear at all times that staff do have preferences and treat some students like trash. I am able to personally corroborate the complaints left by Heavenli Oleksyn in another review.

All this being said, through all the staff members who i have considered to have done a very poor job, some of my favorite teachers during my entire time schooling have been ones from Cedar, they have left a lasting impression on me and I am very grateful to have had them as teachers. It is unfortunate that the entire faculty could not be of such a standard.

Cedar was an okay school, was there from R-11 but the bullying from students was absolutely terrible from every year level from year 7-11 and the school dealed with it by "talking to them" which only made things worse and then it seemed like the school did nothing about it at all. I also felt treated very differently by the teachers than most of the other students and felt like they thought I was dumb. They offer some good classes, but not enough interesting subjects for half the people who go there, more of a set-in-stone. The counsellors were good in my opinion. Personally wouldn't send my (one day) kids here but still a decent school.

i would like to start off by saying i really like how this school is facilitated. Especially the sports program and the education that mys son receives. As a parent of a 14 year old son, i would like to start of by saying thanks to the teachers, staff for educating my son with everything. I would really recommend the parents to this school to enroll your child to this school to receive the best education ever.

As a parent, I am so impressed. The teachers have been over backwards to help my children academically and emotionally. Danielle Cioffi runs a wonderful gifted program which has catered for my 2 kids. The front office staff (Michelle) are extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this school.
