Lost power at 12:22am ETR was set at 2:30am then 3:45am then 5:45am now 10am. They put fake restoration times to make the people think they are at work. CMP does not work through the night unless they are forced to by the state and have out of state workers come in and then charge the bill payers for the cost. CMP is a scam and absolutely suck at their job. Also their was no storm perfectly calm weather high 60s all night with a little rain so it makes you wonder why it went out to begin with for what they are now saying will be a 10 hr outage.

I’ve lost power 3 times in the month I’ve had service. One of those times I had no power for almost 2 days. There is no 24/7 customer support line and even during business hours the automated phone tree makes it almost impossible to talk to an actual person. They have a monopoly in the area so I guess that means they don’t have to actually ensure their service is any good. Bills are outrageous for such a low quality service.

I haven't lived in Maine for over a year, and they're still trying to bill me. And now they say I owe more on previous bills that I already paid. I honestly don't understand how a company can be this bad. I highly recommend an old-school tar and feather for any manager or boss of this company.

Just spoke to the best customer service person, Tonya. I was not put on hold, she understood the problem completely and I came away with the feeling that I was heard and responded to. Thank you for NOT putting me through the usual frustrating experiences of trying to get a problem of this nature solved over the phone.

I'm a case manager and these guys are the bane of my existence. Constantly messing up people's bills or claiming non payment despite state assistance programs paying. Asides from housing, CMP is my number 1 issue that is a genuine waste of resources. A better system is possible. Utilities like this should not run for profit. Support Maine Public Power.

This is undoubtedly the most difficult bill to pay on their own website. I have given up on several different occasions trying to pay my bill online. The process is virtually impossible. I have called them and explained many times that the website is not working properly. I know for a fact that many many people have done the same. Years have passed, without change. I have come to the decision that they are probably trying to push people into signing up for auto pay. I was going to sign up for auto pay, because it is so difficult and time consuming to pay my bill. However, when I got halfway through the autopay process, you are required to pay a minimum of 5 days early! Most people don’t have the means to pay 5 days early. The payment is only allowed to be paid with a bank account. No credit cards, no debit cards. The only way to pay with a credit or debit card, is through a 3rd party company that charges you a fee! They don’t tell you that until you complete the entire lengthy process, and press send. Then you get the disclaimer that you must pay a 3 dollar fee. This company could and should make it so much easier for their customers. They for some reason... choose not to. WHY?
I wouldn’t recommend Central Maine Power because I believe that they are dishonest, and don’t respect their customers needs. Unfortunately, they have a monopoly on the state of Maine.

Takes zero accountability for the never ending list of Fraudulent claims/actions. The non stop advertisements filled with propaganda and falsified information was what lead me to finally leaving this review. Please take the MILLIONS spent (over 5 in the last qtr) on your IG/Youtube/Facebook and local TV adds and put it into creating a sustainable company that is not rotting from the top down. Stop mailing me “clean” energy ads . No Mainer want it and No Mainer is willing to stand by quietly while you destroy our state.

CMP is very much stealing from its Customers but since they hold a virtual monopoly in Maine.... You only thing we can hope is the powers that be will go after them..... Never thought I'd say this but I wish the government would take them over
