Epic Flight Academy in Tallahassee is a good place to learn how to fly! They have a great fleet and you feel they are concerned about safety in how they care for the planes. Truly a rewarding, excellent experience getting my certificates there. I did a little training at the main Daytona campus also; it is an excellent facility! All around one of the most rewarding endeavors of my life to attend flight school here. The instructors can be a bit young, but you can always find one who teaches well and switch if you're not satisfied with the initial instruction you recieve.

I recently booked a Discovery flight at Epic NSB for my grandson and son to see if they would get "The Bug" to someday pursue getting a private pilot license. The folks at Epic did an Excellent Job not only with the flight itself but with educating my boys about Epic's flight school's technical and instructor capabilities and what it would take to get their PPL. While touring the facilities there was a noticeable sense of closeness between the instructors and students, one that showed a vested interest by the instructors in the success of their students. In my view, this is the primary sign of an educational intuition that is committed to the ultimate success of its students. The relatively small class sizes provide an optimum student-to-instructor ratio which provides ample opportunity for a more personalized learning experience. Epic's high graduation rate (I believe +95%) is proof that this concept truly works. As a result of the Discovery flight experience, my grandson has "gotten the bug" and plans to enroll at Epic NSB to train for his PPL as soon as he finishes his Undergraduate studies at Penn State. To anyone who is thinking about attending a flight school I would recommend that they put Epic on their list of schools to visit before they make their final decision on enrolling in one. My only disappointment was that I could not accompany the boys on the flight because adding my weight would have exceeded that maximum takeoff weight of the aircraft. Just a stark reminder that I need to go on a diet! 🙁

A great flight school to go to. They really set you up for success. From start to finish I knew exactly what I was doing. They did a great job in their ground schools to help prepare you for the written tests and for the oral check-rides. I went to another school before this one, and it was the total opposite.
